2. Information we collect
We may collect your email address, sign-in provider details, linked Discord account info, profile settings, billing information, how you use MakoAI, and IP and user-agent data we use to keep MakoAI safe. We also keep the logs we need to run and secure the service.
3. How we use information
We use it to sign you in, link the website to your Discord, run the service, take payments, give support, look into abuse, keep an eye on how things are running and improve MakoAI. If it's needed, we also use the Discord authorisation you gave us to help get you back into the official MakoAI servers.
4. Discord support and Komi
Our Discord support tools, including Komi, may process ticket messages, images you upload for support or student verification, Discord usernames, display names, user IDs, roles, account status, Premium or free-trial grants, saved service/account metadata, and verification signals such as hashed IP, device, browser and user-agent data. We use this to answer support questions, check whether someone already has or used access, review abuse or alternate-account signals, and help staff decide whether to grant or refuse free trials or other access. We may also check Discord user IDs with Discord-focused alt-detection or anti-abuse services, such as services built from Discord verification signals, so staff can review possible linked accounts, VPN/proxy signals or ban-evasion risk.
5. Payments
Payments go through third parties like Stripe. We never store your full card details.
6. Sharing
We don't sell your personal information. We only share data with third parties and service providers when we need to run MakoAI, sign you in, take payments, give support or meet a legal duty.
7. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your information, but no system is completely secure. Keeping your own login details safe is up to you.
8. Retention
We keep data for as long as we need it to run the service, settle disputes, look into abuse, meet accounting rules or follow the law. Some records may stay after an account is closed if we have a good reason to keep them.
9. Your choices
You can contact us to ask for access to your data, to correct it or to delete it. We may need to check who you are first, and the law can limit what we're able to do.
10. Third-party services
This policy doesn't replace the privacy policies of the other providers MakoAI uses, including payment, hosting, login, analytics, email, Discord and Discord-focused anti-abuse providers, so have a read of those too. By using MakoAI you also accept their terms and privacy policies.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If you keep using MakoAI after a change, you're accepting the new version. We'll try to tell you about big changes, but it's on you to check back now and then.
12. Notice to users
MakoAI is meant to help with learning, not replace it. Make sure the way you use it fits the academic, school or personal rules that apply to you.
13. Notice to educational institutions/schools
We try to be open about what data we collect and how we use it, and we do our best to keep it secure. Students should know what we collect, how it's used and what they're agreeing to. A student using MakoAI shouldn't automatically be treated as breaking a school's policy.
14. Notice to parents/guardians
MakoAI is for all students, but we suggest parents and guardians read this policy and keep an eye on how their children use MakoAI, to make sure it fits their values and educational goals.
